VW T6 Multivan with Layzee rear kitchen, rear pull-out, and roof tent

Are you wondering how you can set up the camping kitchen in your camper, VW Bulli, Mercedes Vito, rooftop tent camper or other panel van?

We have now put together 4 different options for using the LAYZEE Kitchenbox as a rear kitchen in your camper:

1. VW T6.1 Multivan Camper with Rear Pull-out and LAYZEE Kitchenbox as Rear Kitchen

This stylish VW T6.1 Multivan travels the world as a family camper with 2 adults and 1 child. The three sleep in the rooftop tent on the van, thus having space to use the middle row of seats with two individual seats, and the trunk is equipped with a rear pull-out. This extendable rear pull-out offers an enormous area for luggage and the rear kitchen. The LAYZEE Kitchenbox is perfectly integrated here as a kitchen box in the rear and can extend the work surface thanks to the built-in side pull-out. The aluminum cooking box stands on the extendable rear pull-out and is thus at a practical standing height and ready to start cooking immediately.

Additional storage space in this build is also provided by the clever window bags and the LAYZEE Bag for the car seats.

2. Panel Van Build with Small Pull-out for the Cooking Box

A panel van offers plenty of space for a custom camper conversion. But what if you don’t want to install a fixed kitchen ? With the LAYZEE Kitchenbox, you can decide whether you want to cook on the rear pull-out or prefer to take the kitchen box a few meters further to a lake, a great view, or some other special spot. For this, a handy stand is available as an accessory for the LAYZEE Kitchenbox, allowing you to continue using the cooking box at standing height.

We find this solution particularly ingenious. A self-built, fitting pull-out in the rear of the camper provides space for the anthracite-colored cooking box. As soon as the pull-out is pushed in, the LAYZEE Kitchenbox simply disappears under the bench inside the campervan. Phenomenal! This height also offers a comfortable standing height. The lightweight kitchen box can just as easily be used a few meters away from the van.

3. VW T6.1 California Beach with Multiflexboard, Rear Pull-out and Kitchen Box

Do you want to use the lower bed in your VW T5 or T6 California Bulli in addition to the pop-top roof? The VW California has space in the rear for all kitchen equipment on the rear pull-out. In the photo, you can see a compressor cool box, the LAYZEE Kitchenbox, and behind it there is still space for a small Eurobox and a water canister. Super practical! Using the kitchen box as a rear kitchen works wonderfully, as in this position the side pull-out can also be used as a storage surface and the lid as a splash guard for the bed. The cool magnetic strip in the lid of the aluminum cooking box also offers the possibility to store magnetic kitchen utensils. The LAYZEE Kitchenbox fits on the rear pull-out under the Multiflexboard.

This VW Bulli also uses the great window bags and the LAYZEE Bag for the car seats for additional storage space.

4. Minicamper with Rooftop Tent and Kitchen Box in the Trunk

These minicampers sleep in the rooftop tent, store their sleeping gear also in the rooftop tent, and clothes are packed on the back seat. This leaves space in the trunk for a type of rear kitchen in the form of the LAYZEE Kitchenbox. Due to the handy size of the mobile kitchen box, it can be used even in light drizzle or wind with the trunk open.

Now It’s your Turn…

Now it’s up to you to find your own style. We are excited and look forward to your ideas and photos with the LAYZEE Kitchenbox.

Advantages of a Rear Kitchen:

  • Space Saving: You can use the entire interior of your camper or car.
  • Standing Height: Your cooking box is at a comfortable height, so you can start cooking while standing.
  • Individuality: You don’t permanently install any parts in the camper and can customize your equipment or build completely.
  • No Odor Inside: Since the trunk is open, cooking odors dissipate directly, and the interior of your camper doesn’t smell unpleasantly of food.
  • Flexibility: The rear kitchen can be removed from the camper at any time, so you can use the space for other things in everyday life.
  • Mobility: The mobile cooking box doesn’t necessarily have to be used in the rear; you can also use it as a picnic box, a standing table at a festival, or a barbecue spot next to the camper.
  • Speed: The kitchen is set up in a few simple steps and offers a clever layout for storing kitchen equipment.

A kitchen box offers you extreme flexibility, as you don’t have to constantly leave it in the camper. You can use the car for other things in everyday life, but also the LAYZEE Kitchenbox in the same way. Due to the light weight of the cooking box, you can also use it wonderfully at a festival, as a picnic box in the park, a coffee station when meeting friends, an outdoor bar at a birthday party, or as an outdoor kitchen on the balcony. There are no limits to your imagination.
